Hello! Welcome and thanks for coming to our data collection site with BuzzLogic. Affective Interfaces has developed technology that can sense emotional response to media as its consumed. We’re excited to have your participation, your data is helping us build upon new ground-breaking emotion sensing technology that will be used to reshape media and product development as we know it. You’re also helping BuzzLogic understand how their site messaging, layout and form are resonating with the market.
To get started, here’s what you need: a webcam equipped MacOS X computer and a broadband connection, a download, even light, focused attention for the duration. Sorry, not yet Windows compatible!
Please read and accept EULA, download AICapture app, complete the tests and short survey. That’s it!

USING THE AICAPTURE TOOL
Download the AICaptureTool.app.zip and open it up. When it opens, start a new file and title it with your TESTCONTENT_FIRSTINITIAL_AGE_GENDER_POSTALCODE_COUNTRY_EMAILADDRESS. For example, write "BuzzLogic_J_32_MALE_94921_USA_EMAIL_AT_GMAIL_COM" into the session id box that opens and then click confirm. Note the nomenclature has only alphanumeric characters using _ as separator.
TEST : Buzzlogic
When the session id box closes, another window remains open with your video image in it. Check your video image is in it. If you are wearing earbuds, unplug them so the app can record audio.
During the test, remove any hats, check the lighting is even and adequate to see your eyes in the video, reducing backlighting or brightening your screen to accomplish this. As you navigate the site content, just respond naturally to what you are experiencing.
- When you are ready, go to the AIcapture app and click the red dot to start recording. Hold still with a relaxed neutral face for 5 seconds.
- Go to the BuzzLogic site at www3.buzzlogic.com
- Starting at the homepage please navigate through site first by using the left navigation and reading all the content on each page.
- Once you have finished navigating the site with the left navigation, please use the top navigation again reading as much content as possible on each page.
- Then go back and read any additional content you may have missed (not necessary to read entire Blog content)
- Once you are done with the site content, go back to AICapture app and click the red button to stop recording.
- The window will expand and you can play back the file to check the sound and images worked out.
- If the sound and image recorded, click the button to upload. If not, try the test again. When the upload begins, please leave your computer on long enough to complete the process. You are almost done!
If you run into trouble, we will help you trouble shoot. Leave the AICapture app open until the upload window disappears which may take as long as the recording session. If the program crashes please choose to send a report to AI and Apple as in the picture below. If the upload is interrupted you may see the following messages. Please reopen the AICaptureTool so the upload can continue from where it left off.
BuzzLogic has also requested that you complete a separate questionnaire related to the site content itself which should be contained in your initial email from BuzzLogic requesting your participation.

If you are unable to complete the task due to software problems, please send us the Problem Report, and reopen the app to complete upload. At any time send us an email so we can help you troubleshoot. When you are done with all tests, delete the AICaptureTool even if you plan to do more tests down the line as we regularly update the AICapture tool.
