Hello! Welcome and thanks for coming to our data collection site with BuzzLogic. Affective Interfaces has developed technology that can sense emotional response to media as it's consumed. We’re excited to have your participation, your data is helping us build upon new ground-breaking emotion sensing technology that will be used to reshape media and product development as we know it. You’re also helping us understand how online content is resonating with the market.
To participate in this research: Please read and accept EULA, download AICapture app, complete the tests and short surveys. That’s it!
To participate in the study you will need: a webcam equipped MacOS X computer and a broadband connection, a download, even light, focused attention for the duration. If you use botox on your brow, please do not participate as primary muscles of facial expression are unable to provide accurate representative data. Sorry, not yet Windows compatible!

USING THE AICAPTURE TOOL
Download the AICaptureTool.app.zip and open it up. When it opens, start a new file and title it with your TESTCONTENT_FIRSTINITIAL_AGE_GENDER_POSTALCODE_COUNTRY_EMAILADDRESS. For example, write "TONYROBBINS_J_32_MALE_94921_USA_EMAIL_AT_COMCAST_NET" into the session id box that opens and then click confirm. Note the nomenclature has only alphanumeric characters using _ as separator.
Please complete all of the tests below. Each test should have a separate title, file, survey, and upload.
TEST : CNN (please watch video only and stop recording after 10 minutes)
TEST : 16 Moments (please watch the whole thing in full screen)
TEST : go to FaceBook and install the Farmville app (please record yourself setting up Farmville from the beginning, and playing with Farmville for 10 minutes total, please use a timer)
When the session id box closes, another window remains open with your video image in it. Check your video image is in it. If you are wearing earbuds, unplug them so the app can record audio. Watch the video in full screen.
1/ When the link opens in your browser, get it ready to play and pause at the start.
2/ During the test, remove any hats, check the lighting is even and adequate to see your eyes in the video, reducing backlighting or brightening your screen to accomplish this. If you wish, take a deep breath, relax and remember life is short and enjoy yourself! As you complete the task, just respond naturally to what you are experiencing. When you are ready, go to the AIcapture app and click the red dot to start recording. Hold still with a relaxed neutral face for 5 seconds.
3/ Go back to your browser, expand to full screen view and start the program. Watch the full duration of the video, then go back to AICapture app and click the red button to stop recording.
4/ The window will expand and you can play back the file to check the sound and images worked out. Check the recording length to be sure the whole thing recorded.
5/ If the sound and image recorded, click the button to upload. If not, try the test again. When the upload begins, please leave your computer on long enough to complete the process. You are almost done!
Keep in mind only files that have sound, screen and webcam capture for the whole duration can be used and paid for so please check your work at the end. If you run into trouble, we will help you trouble shoot and pay you for your efforts. Leave the AICapture open until the upload window disappears which may take as long as the recording session. If the program crashes please choose to send a report to AI and Apple as in the picture below. If the upload is interrupted you may see the following messages. Please reopen the AICaptureTool so the upload can continue from where it left off.
If you are unable to complete the HIT due to software problems, send us the Problem Report, reopen to complete upload, and if all else fails send us an email, we will help you troubleshoot and pay for your efforts even if you cannot complete the upload due to software problems. To complete each TEST, fill out a separate survey, so there will be several surveys one for each video. When you are done with all tests, delete the AICaptureTool even if you plan to do more tests down the line as we regularly update the AICapture tool.
